Covid-19: 236 New Cases, 374 Recoveries in 24 Hours

Rabat - A total of 236 new cases of coronavirus infection and 374 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, the health ministry announced on Sunday.

This new figure brings to 513,864 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in March 2020, while the number of people who have recovered has risen to 500,914, that is a recovery rate of 97.5%, said the Health department in its daily Covid-19 status update.

As for the total number of deaths, it rose to 9,072 with 8 new cases recorded in 24 hours, i.e. a case fatality rate of 1.8%. The deaths were registered in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (3), Souss-Massa (2), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1), Marrakech-Safi (1) and Fez-Meknes (1).

The new contaminations were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (151), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (21), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (17), Marrakech-Safi (14), Souss-Massa (12), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (11), Fez-Meknes (5), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (3) and Beni Mellal-Khenifra (2).

The number of active cases stands at 3.878, including 241 in a severe or critical condition.

The number of people vaccinated on Saturday (1st dose) reached 5,473,809, while those who have been fully vaccinated (1st and 2nd doses) amounted to 4,390,752.
